Yarsagumba has been using it as a herb and medicine in Nepal since the ancient times.  The credit of collecting Yarsagumba for the first time, which is used as various herbs, goes to Polunin Saikal and William, who came to collect plants on behalf of the British Museum in London in 1952.  They took the very valuable Yarsagumba from Chakhur Lake at an altitude of 4200 meters.  In Nepal, it is found in Yarsagumba, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Darchula, Bajhang, Bajura, Jumla, Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Manang, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Rukum, Myagdi, Gorkha districts.  With the increase in the socio-economic activities of the residents of the Himalayan and high mountain districts, which have more potential for the collection of Yarsagumba, the national economy will be able to run and if its collection, processing and export can be managed, it will be a major source of foreign exchange earnings.  “This statute has been formulated under the Organization Registration Act 2034.

Paragraph 1 Preliminary (1) Name of the organization: The name of this organization shall be “Nepal Yarsagumba Sangh.  It will be Nepal Yarshagumba Association in English.  Briefly, it will be N.Y.A in English. a) The address of the organization’s office: The office of this organization is Kathmandu District, Budhanilkanth Municipality, Ward No.  It will be at 10.  The office of the organization can be moved as per the need with the prior approval of the local authority.  B) Scope of the organization: The scope of this Nepal Yarsagumba Association will be all over Nepal.  The scope of the organization can be expanded according to the need with the prior approval of the local authority. c) Commencement: This statute will start from the date of registration of the organization.  And will be a non-governmental social organization.  The organization will not be engaged in earning income other than its purpose and consulting with or without charging any kind of fee.
